The end-Permian extinction event (EPEE) considered to have been caused by the eruption of Siberian Large Igneous Province (SLIP), age which is critical for extinction-SLIP model evaluation. Tunguska Basin flora during this time, in accordance with EPEE model, supposed killed massive injection into atmosphere poisonous substances such as methane, sulfates, mercury and combastion coals. In addition, numerous fires presumably devastated regional flora. However, diversity drasticly increased at beginning Induan or slightly earlier become diverse species level Olenekian Anisian, when main phase basalt associated intrusive activity occurred. overall magmatic latest Permian Early Triassic did not kill flora, but rather stimulate their diversity. geomagnetic secular variations from intrusions revealed similarity paleomagnetic directions Norilsk group layered those upper lower Anisian Mokulaev Kharaelakh volcanic formations Talnakh Moronga-Mokulaev formations. U-Pb dates data expose obvious discrepancy between these two datasets. suggest that Norilsk-1 intrusion younger than Talnakn intrusions, indicate opposite. other regions prolonged duration multi-stadial formation. region roughly constrain onset SLIP generally postdate extinction.
